About JAMFITNESS – Movement Coach Toronto
I’m Antonio, and I’ve been coaching people in Toronto for over 20 years.
The 10xHealth Framework
What makes JAMFITNESS different is our 10xHealth Framework – a mindset that prioritizes personal wellbeing as the first line of defence to effectively address and overcome adversity.
Health is a personal insurance we pay into that we can only hope is enough to cover the cost of whatever injury or sickness comes our way. If you want to 10x your health, you need to take ownership of it and pay into it for the simple benefit of being the best prepared you can be.
The 10xHealth framework highlights the health domain as the starting point from which one can build key habits that carry over to the domains of career, relationships, and community.
Not because it’s trendy. Not because I love the grind. Because I’ve seen what proper movement coaching can do – it changes lives.
The Movement Coach Philosophy
Here’s the thing most personal trainers in Toronto get wrong: they focus on how much you can lift instead of how well you move.
That’s backwards.
Better movement equals less pain, more sustainable strength, and a body that actually works the way it’s supposed to. You’re not training to become a powerlifter (unless that’s your goal). You’re training to feel great, stay active, and live without pain.
That’s what movement coaching delivers.
My Background
20+ Years in the Fitness Industry
I’ve been coaching since the early 2000s. Back when personal training meant counting reps and yelling motivational nonsense.
I started like most trainers – focused on bigger weights, more reps, harder workouts. But I noticed something: clients would get stronger for a few months, then get injured and disappear.
That didn’t sit right with me.
So I dove deep into movement science, biomechanics, and pain-free training methodologies. I studied under some of the best minds in functional movement and realized the industry had it backwards.
The breakthrough: Train movement quality first, then add strength. Not the other way around.
Currently in the process of becoming an ICF Certified Coach
Coaching using the framework International Coaching Federation (ICF) means I don’t just tell you what to do – I help you understand WHY you’re doing it and how it connects to your broader life goals.
Fitness isn’t just about the gym. It’s about having the energy to play with your kids, the strength to enjoy weekend activities, and the confidence that comes from feeling good in your own skin.
Husband, Father of 2 Girls, Parrothead
Outside the gym, I’m a husband and father to two amazing girls. That means I understand busy schedules, work-life balance, and the challenge of staying fit when life pulls you in a thousand directions.
I’m also a Jimmy Buffett fan (Parrothead) and a firm believer that life should be fun, not a constant grind. That philosophy shows up in how I coach – we work hard, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously.
Why Leslieville?
I train at 235 Carlaw Ave because it’s the heart of east Toronto. Convenient for clients from Leslieville, The Beaches, Riverside, and East York.
No fancy downtown gym with corporate vibes. No intimidating warehouse full of bodybuilders. Just a focused training space where real people get real results.
I live in The Beaches, train in Leslieville, and understand this community. You’re busy professionals, young families, active adults who don’t have time for BS. You want efficient training that works.
That’s what I deliver.
The JAMFITNESS Approach
Movement > Exercise
Most trainers have you doing bench press, squats, deadlifts without ever checking if you can actually move properly.
That’s like building a house on a cracked foundation – eventually it collapses.
We start with movement quality:
- Assessment: Watch how you currently move, identify limitations
- Correction: Fix compensation patterns and mobility restrictions
- Strength: Build sustainable strength on a solid foundation
- Performance: Train for whatever your life demands
Result? You get stronger without getting injured. Revolutionary, right?
No BS Trends. Longterm Results Built on Holistic Goal-Setting
I don’t believe in:
- 6 AM grind sessions (unless you love them)
- Motivational yelling and hype (you’re an adult, you know why you’re here)
- Cookie-cutter programs (everyone is different)
- Complicated nutrition plans (keep it simple)
- Gimmicks and trends (stick to what works)
I do believe in:
- Quality movement patterns
- Sustainable strength building
- Pain-free training
- Honest coaching (I’ll tell you the truth, not what you want to hear)
- Work-life balance (fitness enhances your life, it doesn’t consume it)
Built for Active Toronto Adults (30-60 Years Old)
Most of my clients are between 30-60 years old. They’re:
- Busy Professionals: Need time-efficient training that works
- Young Families: Want to keep up with kids without breaking down
- Weekend Warriors: Run, cycle, play sports – need injury prevention
- Active Seniors: Want to stay strong and independent in their 50s/60s/70s
- Former Athletes: Used to be fit, want to get back there smartly
If that’s you, this will work.
What Makes JAMFITNESS Different
1. Movement-First Training
Other Toronto personal trainers focus on how much weight you can lift. We focus on how well you move, then build strength on that foundation.
Why? Because poor movement + heavy weights = injury. Good movement + progressive strength = sustainable results.
2. Pain-Free Approach
Training shouldn’t hurt. If you have chronic pain (back, knees, shoulders, hips), movement coaching often resolves it by fixing the underlying movement patterns causing the issue.
I’ve worked with clients whose back pain disappeared in 4-6 weeks after years of physiotherapy couldn’t fix it. Not magic – just proper movement.
3. Neighborhood Expertise
I’ve been training clients in Leslieville, The Beaches, and east Toronto for over a decade. I understand this community and what you need:
- Efficient training (you’re busy)
- Real results (no time for gimmicks)
- Local convenience (train near home)
- Straight talk (no corporate BS)
4. Proven Track Record
5.0 Stars (31 Google Reviews) – Highest-rated personal trainer in east Toronto.
Those reviews aren’t fake. They’re from real people who got real results:
- Chronic back pain resolved
- Strength gains without injury
- Better movement, less pain
- Sustainable fitness that lasts
5. Transparent Pricing
No “contact us for pricing” games. Here’s what it costs:
Here’s our transparent pricing:
- 10xHealth Session (100 mins): $175
- MVMT Session (50 mins): $125
All packages include personalized programming, movement assessments, nutrition guidance, and support between sessions.
That’s it. No hidden fees, no surprises.

- You’re not willing to focus on movement quality
No judgment – just being honest about who I work best with.
My Training Philosophy
Abundance, Not Scarcity
I don’t believe in the “no pain, no gain” grind mentality. That’s scarcity thinking – the idea that you have to destroy yourself to deserve results.
I believe in abundance: train smarter, recover better, build sustainable strength that lasts decades.
You shouldn’t limp out of the gym. You should leave feeling better than when you arrived.
Simplicity > Complexity
Fitness isn’t complicated. The industry makes it complicated to sell you stuff.
Here’s what actually works:
- Move well
- Build strength progressively
- Eat enough protein
- Sleep 7-8 hours
- Stay consistent
That’s it. We don’t need fancy gadgets, complicated programs, or magic supplements.
Action > Analysis
You can overthink fitness forever. Or you can just start.
Book a free assessment, try a session, see if it works for you. FAFO (Figure And Find Out) mindset.
The 10xHealth Mindset
If you’ve read this far, you’ve noticed I don’t sound like most trainers.
That’s intentional. I write and speak to achieve a mindset shift – conversational, direct, no BS. Think coach-to-friend, not corporate-to-customer.
Why? Because personal training should feel personal. You’re hiring a human, not a company. You deserve honesty, not marketing fluff.
