They’re not a fat-loss trick.
They’re not a replacement for core strength training.

Done right, they’re a support skill.

Here’s what they actually do well.

1. Improve deep core control

Stomach vacuums train the transverse abdominis, the deep “corset” muscle that stabilizes your spine and pelvis.

That matters because:
• A stable core protects your lower back
• Better control = better force transfer in lifts and sport
